i just wanted to add a little addendum to this:
the event was totally spun by i-don't-know-who (nytimes? tv shows i don't watch?) so that everyone has interpreted colbert's shtick as having "gotten no laughs" and the bush impersonator (who SUCKED) as having gotten all of them. not bothering to get into how ridiculous this is, because obviously colbert's point was not to "get laughs" but to cut into bush and the audience (which he undoubtedly did), it just serves to show how effective and powerful the PR machine is and how wily the right wing f-ers behind it are. one big conspiracy. no doubt about it.
